Privacy

NuaNest helps parents make one gift list from lots of shops. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it as short and plain as we can.

What we collect

• Your account: your name, email address and a securely hashed password.
• Your lists: what you add, and the details you choose to share, such as a due date, shower date and location.
• Guests: the name and optional message a guest gives when they reserve a gift. Guests don’t need an account.
• Clicks: when someone follows a link to a shop we record which product and shop it was, but not who clicked.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies: one to keep you signed in, one that lets a guest undo their own reservation or change their reply, and one that remembers your cookie choice. We don’t use advertising cookies. When you click through to a shop, that shop or its affiliate network (such as Amazon, Awin or Skimlinks) may set its own cookies so it can credit the sale to us. Their own privacy policies apply on their sites.

If you say yes when we ask, we also load a script from our affiliate partner Skimlinks, which sets a cookie so shops we don’t work with directly can credit a purchase to us. It never changes the price you pay. Say no and everything still works the same. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Who can see your list

Only people with your private link. Lists aren’t searchable and are hidden from search engines. You can make a new link at any time, which stops the old one working. Guests never see each other’s names.

Services we use

• Hosting and database providers, to run the site and store your data.
• An email provider, to send password reset emails.
• Anthropic’s Claude, to sort products into catalogue sections. Only product information (such as a product’s name and the shop’s category) is sent, never anything about you or your guests.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and lists. Email hello@nuanest.co.uk and we’ll reply within a month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

How long we keep things

We keep your account and lists until you delete them. Archived lists are kept so you can still see who to thank, until you ask us to delete them. Click records don’t identify anyone and are kept for reporting.
