In this guide
The SnuzPod 5, the Chicco Next2Me and the Tutti Bambini CoZee are three of the bedside cribs UK parents ask about most. All three attach to the side of your bed so your baby sleeps within arm’s reach in their own space, which makes night feeds much easier. The differences are in the details: how the side opens, whether it rocks, how it travels and how it looks.
The quick answer
- SnuzPod 5 if you want a 3-in-1 crib with a wooden frame: it works beside your bed, as a standalone crib with a rocking stand, or as a lift-off bassinet.
- Chicco Next2Me if you want lots of height settings to fit an unusual bed, and a one-handed sliding side.
- Tutti Bambini CoZee Zen if you want the lowest price of the three, a quick fold for travel and storage underneath.
SnuzPod 5
The SnuzPod 5 is a 3-in-1 crib: beside your bed, standalone on its rocking stand, or as a lift-off bassinet you can carry from room to room. The side zips down for easy access at night, there are breathable mesh windows, and a 3D mesh mattress is included. It has wheels for moving it around the house. Snuz says it’s suitable from birth to around 6 months, or until your baby can sit, kneel or pull themselves up, with a maximum weight of 9kg.
Chicco Next2Me
The Next2Me range is built around fitting as many beds as possible. The Essential is the simplest model, with fabrics made partly from recycled polyester. The step-up Next2Me Magic Evo adds 11 height positions, a rocking mode for when it’s used standalone, a side that slides open with one hand, a 3D mesh mattress with two mesh windows, swivel wheels and a travel bag.
Some Next2Me models also tilt. The Lullaby Trust, the UK’s safer sleep charity, advises that babies sleep on a firm, flat surface, so it’s worth asking your midwife or health visitor before using any tilt.
Tutti Bambini CoZee Zen
The CoZee Zen has linen-textured fabrics on a powder-coated frame, adjustable mattress positions and ventilation panels on both sides. It folds quickly for trips away and has a deep storage tray underneath for muslins and nappies. It’s also one of the best-reviewed bedside cribs we track, with thousands of shop reviews.

Before you buy
Measure your bed. Check the height of your mattress top against the crib’s height range, especially for divan or very low beds.
Check the gap. The crib must attach securely with no gap between the two mattresses. Follow the maker’s straps exactly.
Firm, flat and clear. The Lullaby Trust advises a firm, flat, waterproof mattress, no pillows, bumpers or loose bedding, and placing your baby on their back with feet at the foot of the crib.
Think about the next stage. Most bedside cribs last around six months. If you want one product for longer, look at cribs that convert into a cot.
Questions parents ask
Which bedside crib is best?
It depends on what matters most to you. The SnuzPod 5 is a 3-in-1 crib with a wooden frame and a rocking stand, the Chicco Next2Me range fits the widest range of bed heights, and the Tutti Bambini CoZee Zen is the cheapest of the three, folds quickly for travel and has storage underneath.
How long can a baby use a bedside crib?
Most bedside cribs are for around the first six months. Snuz says the SnuzPod 5 is suitable until your baby can sit, kneel or pull themselves up, up to 9kg. Always check the maker's limits.
