Prams & travelHigh-back booster seats
High-back booster seats for children who have outgrown their toddler seat, usually from about 4 years. They raise your child so the car’s adult seat belt sits in the right place.
A high-back booster guides the belt and protects your child’s head in a side impact. New backless cushions are only approved for children over 125cm and 22kg.
Newer boosters are approved to R129 by your child’s height. Most fit from 100cm and grow with an adjustable headrest.
The lap belt should sit low across the hips and the diagonal belt across the middle of the shoulder, not the neck.
Once they’ve outgrown their toddler seat by height or weight, usually around 4 years. Moving up too early gives less protection, so use each seat to its limit.
In the UK, children must use a child car seat until they’re 12 years old or 135cm tall, whichever comes first.
